- Information and raising awareness :
One of our priorities is informing people,
in particular young ones, about the need for environmental protection.

A meeting point :
Nature Reserve House provides a warm welcome as well
as information. Right in the heart of the old village of Portiragnes,
it is the headquarters of the association AGRN.RH. In addition to the
association's office it acts as an information outlet, where you can find
out all you'd like to know about us. The House is also where all guided
visits to the site commence.

hours or on come and see us.
Guided visits and programmes :
The AGRN.RH organises visits and puts on various programmes
to suit many types of visitor : ordinary guided visits for the general
public, programmes for schools, specialists' days and courses. As the
Reserve is on private property and there is a contract with the owners,
we have to keep to a set limit for the number of annual visitors (booking
in advance).
The association also organises one-off nature workshops. Consult our coming
up heading. The breakdown of the people
received by the management team annually is: Children and young people
from schools or holiday centres - 60%; General public - 20%; the scientific
community - 20%.The majority of visitors come from the Languedoc-Roussillon,
with 20% from other parts of France and 10% from foreign countries, mostly
in Europe. Further information
Events :
With the aim of reaching a wider public, the AGRN.RH
organises annual events such as exhibitions, slide shows, and open days.
Its members also attend events elsewhere such as salons, forums, etc. etc...
For the first time, in 2002, we plan to hold a Festival
of the Roque-Haute Nature Reserve. This will
take place around May 30th, the date on which the Management Association
(AGRN.RH) was created, and we are hoping that it will become an annual
event.
