- Protected plants
The Roque-Haute Nature Reserve protects almost 600
plant species over the 154 hectares which have so far been inventoried.
Of these species, 8% are protected on the national or European level.
It is, however, for its exceedingly rare semi-aquatic, primitive, ferns
(Isoetes duriaei, Isoetes setacea, Marsilea strigosa, Pilularia minuta)
and an amazing variety of mosses and liverworts - 103 species of bryophytes
in all - that the Reserve is best-known.
